The citadel of Álora on the Cerro de las Torres, built by the Arabs in stages: the strongest part under the emirate, the upper enclosure with six square towers in caliphal times and the weakest in the taifa period. After the earthquake of 1680 it became the cemetery. Two towers, partly rebuilt, and a horseshoe arch in the wall still stand.

We count visits ourselves, with no cookies and nothing stored on your device. To count people rather than clicks, we keep a one-way code derived from your connection and browser for at most 48 hours and then delete it; what remains is totals per page that identify no one. We never store your IP. We also use Plausible, analytics hosted in the European Union that likewise sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, to learn which sites send readers here and how many searches are run, never what is searched for.
