Years
1492–1833
Role
Village of the Cotalba monastery

Alfahuir was a Muslim alquería that depended on the barony of Palma, attached to the duchy of Gandía, and in the 15th century it belonged to the monastery of San Jerónimo de Cotalba. That monastery, 2 km from the village, had the protection of the Borja family in the 16th century, a visit from Felipe II in 1586 and building work into the 18th century, and can be visited today.
