A Gothic Dominican monastery founded in 1480 and built between 1482 and 1493 with the support of the Catholic Monarchs, who chose it as a summer residence and for the burial of Prince Juan. Of the years after are the main altarpiece by Pedro Berruguete, begun in 1494, and the prince's tomb, which Domenico Fancelli carved in Genoa in 1511 and 1512. Several reliefs of the tomb were mutilated in 1809, during the War of Independence, and the Cloister of the Kings now holds a museum of oriental art and one of natural sciences.
