- Years
- 1492–1833

- Town and duchy of the Zúñiga family
It was a duchy of the Zúñiga family from the Royal Warrant of 12 October 1485 until 1833, when the abolition of the Old Regime ended it. In 1492 its Jews were forced to convert to Christianity to avoid expulsion, and in the 16th century the 4th duke ordered the gardens of El Bosque. During the 18th century the duchy backed a textile proto-industry, and in 1833 the town was placed in the province of Salamanca.
