The Gothic cathedral built between 1300 and 1362 on the site of the old mosque, which became a cathedral in 1795. In 1813, on the orders of Bishop Juano, a neoclassical façade was added, hiding the old Gothic doorway. It was sacked in 1936 and lost its furnishings and documents, and since 1986 an interior and exterior restoration has given back its Gothic character.
