The bishops' palace, opposite the west front of the Mosque, which Bishop Diego de Mardones transformed between 1607 and 1624: the east façade, the third floor, the north and south towers, the main doorway and the central courtyard of 28 arches. In the 18th century the chapel of the Virgen del Pilar, from 1742 to 1752, and the Baroque staircase after the fire of 1745 were added. Since 19 January 2026 it has housed the Visitor Reception Centre of the Mosque-Cathedral.

We count visits ourselves, with no cookies and nothing stored on your device. To count people rather than clicks, we keep a one-way code derived from your connection and browser for at most 48 hours and then delete it; what remains is totals per page that identify no one. We never store your IP. We also use Plausible, analytics hosted in the European Union that likewise sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, to learn which sites send readers here and how many searches are run, never what is searched for.
