The monastery of the Franciscan Conceptionist nuns, already standing in 1504, when Canon Alvar Pérez de Montemayor handed it over to the abbess. From the 16th-century complex survive the courtyard, the staircases and the Plateresque doorway of the church, the work of Pedro de Alviz; in the 18th century José Martín directed the new building, with a church whose high choir at the west end is resolved with an elliptical dome. The church is open for worship and can be visited; the rest is enclosed.

We count visits ourselves, with no cookies and nothing stored on your device. To count people rather than clicks, we keep a one-way code derived from your connection and browser for at most 48 hours and then delete it; what remains is totals per page that identify no one. We never store your IP. We also use Plausible, analytics hosted in the European Union that likewise sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, to learn which sites send readers here and how many searches are run, never what is searched for.
