The coastal fort that guarded the northern end of the Ferrol estuary, built in 1739 and enlarged in 1747, 1755 and 1762 by the engineers Juan de la Ferriere, Juan Vergel and Miguel Hermosilla, with room for 15 guns facing the sea. In 1994 it was taken down for the works of the outer port and raised again, stone by stone, between 2001 and 2006, 700 metres from its original site, on Cabo Prioriño Chico. It is open to the public.

We count visits ourselves, with no cookies and nothing stored on your device. To count people rather than clicks, we keep a one-way code derived from your connection and browser for at most 48 hours and then delete it; what remains is totals per page that identify no one. We never store your IP. We also use Plausible, analytics hosted in the European Union that likewise sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, to learn which sites send readers here and how many searches are run, never what is searched for.
