The charterhouse of the monks of El Paular, begun in 1506; work was restarted in 1516 and lasted three centuries without finishing the original project. The church was finished in 1602 and the Baroque sacristy was built between 1727 and 1764. The monks were expelled in 1835; the cloister and cells were destroyed in 1842, and the prior's house in 1943.
