The Hieronymite monastery that the Catholic Monarchs founded at Santa Fe and whose present buildings were begun in Granada in 1504, with María Manrique, widow of the Gran Capitán, as the main promoter. Most of the work is by Diego de Siloé; the main chapel was finished in 1522 and the Gran Capitán is buried in the crossing. The church tower, pulled down by the French, was rebuilt in the 20th century.
