The Renaissance gate, in the form of a Roman triumphal arch, begun in 1526 to commemorate the visit of Charles V to Granada after his wedding to Isabella of Portugal, under the direction of Pedro Machuca. It replaced the Islamic gate of Bib al-Buxar and takes its name from the three pomegranates that crown its pediment. It is the best-known historic way into the Alhambra through its forest.

To count people rather than clicks, we keep a one-way code derived from your connection and browser for at most 48 hours and then delete it; what remains is totals per page that identify no one.
