The monastery the Hieronymites held from 1389 to 1835 and where a Franciscan community lives today; its construction began in the 14th century. From the 16th century is the Gothic cloister, or cloister of the apothecary, a former hospital, built between 1519 and 1533 from designs by Antón Egas and Alonso de Covarrubias: a Mudéjar-style ground floor, a late Gothic first floor and a Renaissance third floor. It is now the guesthouse, and the museums off the Mudéjar cloister, with its pavilion of 1405, are visited with a guide.

We count visits ourselves, with no cookies and nothing stored on your device. To count people rather than clicks, we keep a one-way code derived from your connection and browser for at most 48 hours and then delete it; what remains is totals per page that identify no one. We never store your IP. We also use Plausible, analytics hosted in the European Union that likewise sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, to learn which sites send readers here and how many searches are run, never what is searched for.
