A Gothic cathedral begun in the late 13th century on the site of the main mosque, whose apses, transept and nave were raised in the late 15th century and covered with star vaults, work that ended in 1511. At the start of 1520 Damián Forment was commissioned to make the alabaster high altarpiece, with three scenes of the Passion, and the Gothic portal is sheltered by a large Renaissance wooden eave. The tower lost its spire in the Civil War and it has not been replaced.
