Garrucha suffered Barbary piracy until a temporary barracks went up at Las Escobetas in 1766 and, in 1769, the castle of Jesús Nazareno, by the architect Francisco Ruiz Garrido, at a cost of 181,000 reales; with the safety it gave, the village began to grow. To count people rather than clicks, we keep a one-way code derived from your connection and browser for at most 48 hours and then delete it; what remains is totals per page that identify no one.
