The Gothic cathedral begun on 1 June 1321 on the site of the Romanesque one, whose third stage, from 1486 to 1516, added the last five bays of the nave, the crossing, the cloister and the chapter house; the last stone was laid in 1516. Inside are later works, such as the retrochoir, from around 1513, and a Plateresque altar of 1534, and the octagonal Monument chapel dates from the 18th century. It keeps the crypt of San Antolín, of the 7th century, and its museum occupies the cloister and the chapter house.

We count visits ourselves, with no cookies and nothing stored on your device. To count people rather than clicks, we keep a one-way code derived from your connection and browser for at most 48 hours and then delete it; what remains is totals per page that identify no one. We never store your IP. We also use Plausible, analytics hosted in the European Union that likewise sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, to learn which sites send readers here and how many searches are run, never what is searched for.
