The present sanctuary was built in the 16th century on the foundations of an older church, already mentioned in 905, and its church was finished in 1581 according to the building book. It has a single nave, a choir at the foot, a camarín, a sacristy, porches to the north and west and a bell tower; work on the camarín was under way in 1702 and the Casa de novenas was enlarged in 1741. To see the inside, the key has to be asked for at a house in the village.
