A fortress church that formed part of the town wall, raised between the end of the 15th century and the early 16th on an earlier church; the fire of 1564 destroyed almost the whole town, except this church, an oven and a house. Of the years of the period are the Plateresque choir, contracted in February 1530, the main altarpiece by Lope de Larrea, commissioned in 1584, and the roof that shelters the entrance, of 1795. The belfry is formed by two Herrerian-style gables of the 17th century.
