The Dominican convent that Alonso de Idiáquez, secretary of state to Charles V, sponsored on the slope of Mount Urgull; it was built between 1544 and 1562, in a style between Gothic and Renaissance, with the cloister at the foot of the church. In 1813 it suffered great damage and lost its main altarpiece, and in 1836 the friars were expelled and it became an artillery barracks. Since 1932 it has housed the municipal museum, with a palace-like façade that imitates the Renaissance, the church decorated by Josep Maria Sert and an extension of 2011.

We count visits ourselves, with no cookies and nothing stored on your device. To count people rather than clicks, we keep a one-way code derived from your connection and browser for at most 48 hours and then delete it; what remains is totals per page that identify no one. We never store your IP. We also use Plausible, analytics hosted in the European Union that likewise sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, to learn which sites send readers here and how many searches are run, never what is searched for.
