The oldest surviving building in the city, a Gothic church raised on a temple damaged by fire in 1489. It was built from 1507 to 1574, and its main altarpiece, in the Romanist style, was commissioned in 1583 from Ambrosio de Bengoechea, whose workshop delivered it in 1586. It is one of the few buildings that survived the fire of 1813.
