The Cistercian monastery whose church was begun on 20 March 1179 and whose refectory, of 1215, is its masterpiece, but to which the 16th century gave its cloisters: the upper one, Renaissance, from 1533 to 1547, and the Hospedería cloister, Herrerian, around 1582; the grand staircase dates from 1600. Since 1930 a community of Trappist monks has lived in it.
