The seo of Nuestra Señora de la Huerta, begun in the mid-12th century and consecrated in 1232, was remodelled in the 16th century. Alí Darocano built the Mudéjar stage of the tower in brick between 1496 and 1497, and Juan Guaza and Juan Villanueva topped it from 1588; Juan Lucas Botero and his son made the cimborrio between 1543 and 1545, and Alonso González remodelled the chapel of the Purificación between 1551 and 1558. Closed from 1985 for a long restoration, it was reconsecrated on 20 April 2011 and afterwards opened to visitors and worship.

We count visits ourselves, with no cookies and nothing stored on your device. To count people rather than clicks, we keep a one-way code derived from your connection and browser for at most 48 hours and then delete it; what remains is totals per page that identify no one. We never store your IP. We also use Plausible, analytics hosted in the European Union that likewise sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, to learn which sites send readers here and how many searches are run, never what is searched for.
