The Gothic cathedral, begun in May 1347 and first consecrated in 1441. In 1597 the first stone of the baptistery and the tower was laid; in 1672 the Baroque chapel of the Virgen de la Cinta was begun, and the façade, designed in 1625, was built between 1728 and 1757 with Antoni Ferrer's more classical simplification and left unfinished. Since 2015, with the buildings in front of it demolished, the church stands open to the Ebro.

We count visits ourselves, with no cookies and nothing stored on your device. To count people rather than clicks, we keep a one-way code derived from your connection and browser for at most 48 hours and then delete it; what remains is totals per page that identify no one. We never store your IP. We also use Plausible, analytics hosted in the European Union that likewise sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, to learn which sites send readers here and how many searches are run, never what is searched for.
