The house the Diputació del General began to adapt in 1421 and that grew into its palace. From 1511 the courtyard and its staircase were remade, and between 1538 and 1565 the Sala Nova was raised and roofed, with Gaspar Gregori's door of 1593. It is still the seat of the Valencian government; the tower on the west side dates from 1942 to 1953.
