This chapel, of the late 12th or early 13th century with an apse of 1480, was the parish church of Zumárraga and the neighbouring places until 1576, when a new church was built on the valley floor; the neighbours' association saved it from demolition. It stands out for its forward choir and galleries of oak on six stone columns, joined without metal and finished in 1524. In 1976 a reconstruction removed the sacristy, the dome, the vaults of the presbytery and the altarpieces, and early in the 21st century the whole timber structure was restored.
