Roman Hispania

Aquis Querquennis

Today: Bande, Spain

Years
76–300

A Roman camp of two and a half hectares on the banks of the Limia, raised to build the Via Nova between Bracara Augusta and Asturica Augusta, and held from the last quarter of the 1st century to the 120s, probably by a cohort of the Legio VII Gemina. A few metres away stood a mansio, the third from Braga, which lodged travellers on the road in the 2nd and 3rd centuries.

To count people rather than clicks, we keep a one-way code derived from your connection and browser for at most 48 hours and then delete it; what remains is totals per page that identify no one.
