Public baths beside the town wall, on the edge of San Lorenzo beach, begun in the 1st century and remodelled and enlarged in the 2nd, with a cold room, a warm room and a hot room with a pool, underfloor heating and walls painted in fresco. Around the 5th century they were abandoned, became a rubbish tip and then the graveyard of the churches of San Pedro. Found in 1903 and excavated from 1990, they are visited in the museum that opened in 1995.

We count visits ourselves, with no cookies and nothing stored on your device. To count people rather than clicks, we keep a one-way code derived from your connection and browser for at most 48 hours and then delete it; what remains is totals per page that identify no one. We never store your IP. We also use Plausible, analytics hosted in the European Union that likewise sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, to learn which sites send readers here and how many searches are run, never what is searched for.
