The fortified Gothic cathedral, begun in the 12th century and finished in the 15th, with its apse built into the city wall. The Renaissance work inside is of these years: the baptismal font by Vasco de la Zarza (1514 to 1516) and the walnut choir, whose stalls were begun in 1536 from sketches by Cornielles de Holanda and took eleven years. Pedro Berruguete began the main altarpiece in 1499, and the museum holds a processional monstrance of 1571.

To count people rather than clicks, we keep a one-way code derived from your connection and browser for at most 48 hours and then delete it; what remains is totals per page that identify no one. We never store your IP. We also use Plausible, analytics hosted in the European Union that likewise sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, to learn which sites send readers here and how many searches are run, never what is searched for.
