The palace with a late Gothic façade in the style of the Catholic Monarchs, which Juan Alfonso de Benavides, lord of Jabalquinto, had built in the second half of the 15th century. The Renaissance courtyard, with the dates 1599 and 1600 on the keystones of two arches, and the Baroque imperial staircase, with elements reaching the first quarter of the 18th century, were added afterwards. It is now the Antonio Machado seat of the International University of Andalusia.
