The seat of the Consell de Cent, which first met here in 1373 in the Saló de Cent, begun in 1369, and whose Gothic façade on Carrer de la Ciutat is of 1399 to 1402. From these centuries date the Renaissance extension of the Trentenario (1559), the door and gallery of the courtyard (1577 to 1580) and the neoclassical façade on Plaça de Sant Jaume, which José Mas Vila built from 1831 to 1847 and which left the Gothic one mutilated. It is still the seat of the city council.
