The guild house that the architect Joan Garrido i Bertran built between 1758 and 1763 for the guild of silk-veil makers, founded in 1553. It keeps its 18th-century sgraffito on the façades facing Via Laietana and to the south-east; the one on plaça de Sant Francesc, a party wall until Via Laietana was opened, has other sgraffito of about 1930 imitating the old. It is the seat of the Colegio del Arte Mayor de la Seda.
