A Trappist abbey founded before the year 902; the Romanesque church was pulled down for a three-aisled one, keeping the tower, and the church was rebuilt in the 16th century with a Baroque façade. Beside the church opens the Baroque Chapel of the Heroes, of 1753, with 29 niches bearing the names of kings and relatives of the Cid. A fire in 1967 destroyed three quarters of the monastery.
