The parish church of Campillos was begun in 1506 and grew until the reform of 1805 to 1821, which gave it its final form of three naves, chapels at the foot and a tower beside the head. The main portal, Baroque and in burnished marble over the ashlar, is the work of Antonio de Figueroa y Ruiz, and the reforms of the 19th century adapted the church to the Neoclassical style. It belonged to the Archbishopric of Seville until 1958, when it passed to the diocese of Málaga.
