A fort that British engineers built into the rock between 1710 and 1726, on the cove of San Esteban, to protect the southern flank of the castle of San Felipe; it is named after the Duke of Marlborough. It has countermines, underground galleries, rooms hewn from the rock and a moat, and its last reform dates from the end of the 18th century. Today it is a museum about life in Menorca in the British period.
