The defence tower that the British raised between 1801 and 1802 to watch the entrance of the harbour of Fornells and to protect the castle of San Antonio. It is a truncated cone of dry stone reinforced with sandstone blocks, on four levels: a cistern, a store, the garrison's quarters and an artillery platform. It was in private hands and nearly ruined until the town council bought it in 1994; since the works that ended in 2000 it has been a museum that can be visited.

We count visits ourselves, with no cookies and nothing stored on your device. To count people rather than clicks, we keep a one-way code derived from your connection and browser for at most 48 hours and then delete it; what remains is totals per page that identify no one. We never store your IP. We also use Plausible, analytics hosted in the European Union that likewise sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, to learn which sites send readers here and how many searches are run, never what is searched for.
