- City of the Mendoza, Dukes of the Infantado
Seat of the Mendoza family, Dukes of the Infantado from 1475, it saw in their palace the royal weddings of Felipe II and Isabel de Valois in 1559 and of Felipe V and Isabel de Farnesio in 1714. In the 17th century the Mendoza moved their seat to Madrid and the city declined; in 1718 Felipe V set up the Real Fábrica de Paños, which closed in 1822.
