The Renaissance palace that Antonio de Mendoza y Luna, son of the first Duke of the Infantado, had built over the houses of the old Jewish quarter, on plans by Lorenzo Vázquez de Segovia. His niece Brianda de Mendoza turned it into a Franciscan convent of Nuestra Señora de la Piedad, with a church by Alonso de Covarrubias raised between 1526 and 1530. After the confiscation of 1836 Ricardo Velázquez Bosco remodelled it, adding Neoclassical elements, and today it is a secondary school.
