The Renaissance cathedral that replaced the Gothic one, under construction from 1494, whose crossing lantern collapsed in 1525. Andrés de Vandelvira began the works in 1540, and his sacristy and chapter house are the peak of his work; the Baroque façade, designed by Eufrasio López de Rojas in 1667, was finished in 1688, and the Sagrario was consecrated in 1801. It keeps the Holy Face, shown on Fridays, and a museum in the former canons' pantheon.

We count visits ourselves, with no cookies and nothing stored on your device. To count people rather than clicks, we keep a one-way code derived from your connection and browser for at most 48 hours and then delete it; what remains is totals per page that identify no one. We never store your IP. We also use Plausible, analytics hosted in the European Union that likewise sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, to learn which sites send readers here and how many searches are run, never what is searched for.
