A castle-palace that Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar y Mendoza, first marquis of Cenete, raised over an Andalusi fortress; the building and its decoration were completed between 1509 and 1512, with marbles and artists brought from Italy. From outside it is a military block on a rectangular plan with cylindrical towers at the corners, and inside a courtyard of two galleries of Corinthian columns; it counts among the first Renaissance works of civil architecture in Spain. In April 2025 the Diputación de Granada bought it and opened it with free guided visits of 40 minutes, booked by pass.

To count people rather than clicks, we keep a one-way code derived from your connection and browser for at most 48 hours and then delete it; what remains is totals per page that identify no one.
