The inn the Royal Treasury built at La Carlota, one of the Nuevas Poblaciones of Andalusia founded in 1767, to lodge travellers, merchants and their animals. The left wing, for the inn proper, was finished in 1769 and at the end of the 18th century the right wing was added, for stabling and storage; it is of exposed brick on two floors, with Neoclassical solutions and Baroque elements. Sold in 1881, its left wing was later bought by the town council, which restored it in phases for public services.
