The collegiate church of Lorca, begun in 1533 by papal bull of Clement VII on the site of the old church of San Jorge, and not finished until 1780, almost 250 years later. Its Baroque façade, by José de Vallés, went up between 1694 and 1704. The dedication recalls the battle of Los Alporchones, fought on 17 March 1452.
