The Romanesque cathedral begun in 1129, to which were added the north porch (1510 to 1530), the bell stage of the old tower (1571), the sacristy (1678), the cloister (1714) and the Baroque chapel of the Virgen de los Ojos Grandes, whose first stone was laid in 1726. The Neoclassical façade is a design by Julián Sánchez Bort of about 1769, and its towers were finished in the late 19th century. It keeps the privilege of permanent exposition of the Blessed Sacrament.
