The convent of Poor Clares founded in 1559 by Juana of Austria, Felipe II's sister, with building from 1557 to 1564 by Antonio Sillero and Juan Bautista de Toledo. It is still an enclosed convent in the very centre, near the Puerta del Sol. Part of it is a museum that can be visited, with the works of art the women of the royal family gathered there.

We count visits ourselves, with no cookies and nothing stored on your device. To count people rather than clicks, we keep a one-way code derived from your connection and browser for at most 48 hours and then delete it; what remains is totals per page that identify no one. We never store your IP. We also use Plausible, analytics hosted in the European Union that likewise sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, to learn which sites send readers here and how many searches are run, never what is searched for.
