The Duchess of Osuna's garden, on an estate with an orchard and a house she bought in 1783: the gardener Pablo Boutelou brought her a design the next year, the first phase was made between 1785 and 1789, and she looked after it until her death in 1834. It is the only Romantic garden left in Madrid, with its palace, being restored as a museum. The city has owned it since 1974, and it opens to the public only at weekends and on holidays, with numbers limited.

We count visits ourselves, with no cookies and nothing stored on your device. To count people rather than clicks, we keep a one-way code derived from your connection and browser for at most 48 hours and then delete it; what remains is totals per page that identify no one. We never store your IP. We also use Plausible, analytics hosted in the European Union that likewise sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, to learn which sites send readers here and how many searches are run, never what is searched for.
