The mansion of the Dukes of Villahermosa on the paseo del Prado, built over 17th-century houses and remodelled in the Neoclassical style in 1805 by Antonio López Aguado. After it passed to the state in 1980 it was emptied down to its foundations and rebuilt, keeping little more than the façades. Since 1992 it has been the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza.

We count visits ourselves, with no cookies and nothing stored on your device. To count people rather than clicks, we keep a one-way code derived from your connection and browser for at most 48 hours and then delete it; what remains is totals per page that identify no one. We never store your IP. We also use Plausible, analytics hosted in the European Union that likewise sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, to learn which sites send readers here and how many searches are run, never what is searched for.
