The Benedictine convent founded by Teresa Valle de la Cerda in 1623, whose Baroque church was built by fray Lorenzo de San Nicolás. Velázquez painted his Christ Crucified for its sacristy, where it hung from 1628 to 1808; it is now in the Prado, and a copy remains in the lower choir. The convent was demolished in 1903 and rebuilt from 1912, with the old church restored.
