The Poor Clares convent that in 1365 received from Peter I the Cruel the rooms of the Alcázar Menor, the 13th-century Andalusi palace. In the 17th century Melchor de Luzón built the present Baroque church, keeping only the upper choir of the Gothic one, and in the 18th it was redecorated in Rococo. The Museo de Santa Clara now lets visitors see the remains of the Islamic palaces and the cloister.

We count visits ourselves, with no cookies and nothing stored on your device. To count people rather than clicks, we keep a one-way code derived from your connection and browser for at most 48 hours and then delete it; what remains is totals per page that identify no one. We never store your IP. We also use Plausible, analytics hosted in the European Union that likewise sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, to learn which sites send readers here and how many searches are run, never what is searched for.
