Role
Village of the Aézcoa valley, with the Royal Arms Factory

Orbaiceta is a village of the Aézcoa valley, at 765 metres above sea level, near the French border. There Carlos III ordered a Royal Arms and Munitions Factory installed in 1784, which kept working until 1884 and came to house more than 150 workers with their families, with its own Neoclassical church of the Inmaculada. The 1842 census counted 527 inhabitants.
