The Hospital Hospicio for orphans, foundlings and the destitute, begun in 1752 on the order of Isidoro Gil de Jaz, regent of the Principality's audiencia. It has a Baroque ashlar façade with a portico of seven arches, and its round Doric chapel was designed by Ventura Rodríguez in 1768 and finished in 1770. Since 1972 it has been the Hotel de la Reconquista, one of the venues of the Princess of Asturias Awards week.

To count people rather than clicks, we keep a one-way code derived from your connection and browser for at most 48 hours and then delete it; what remains is totals per page that identify no one. We never store your IP. We also use Plausible, analytics hosted in the European Union that likewise sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, to learn which sites send readers here and how many searches are run, never what is searched for.
