A convent raised from 26 September 1624 to plans by the royal architect Juan Gómez de Mora, under the patronage of Juan de Ciriza, marquis of Montejasso and secretary to Felipe III, and his wife Catalina de Alvarado. Stone from the old castle was used, and the building was inaugurated in June 1634. It is an enclosed convent, so only the church can be visited; it holds Baroque altarpieces of 1700.

To count people rather than clicks, we keep a one-way code derived from your connection and browser for at most 48 hours and then delete it; what remains is totals per page that identify no one. We never store your IP. We also use Plausible, analytics hosted in the European Union that likewise sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, to learn which sites send readers here and how many searches are run, never what is searched for.
