A Gothic-Renaissance basilica that replaced the first church, ordered in the town charter of 1322, when it became too small for the population. The present building was begun in 1480 and carried on into the second half of the following century: Juan de Garita was master of works from 1530 and it seems to have been finished by 1580. The Baroque tower (1691 to 1750) lost its upper part in a bombardment of 1873 and was rebuilt in 1887; since 1996 there has been a parish museum in the Neo-Gothic sacristy of 1900.
